Bridgestone Announces Price Increases for U.S. Market

Following similar moves from other tiremakers, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations is raising prices on passenger and light truck tires.

Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations is raising prices on passenger and light truck tires by up to 3.5% in the United States, the company said in a release.

The move follows similar increases across the industry, including on Goodyear consumer tires, Firestone Ag and all Cooper tires. Like other tire manufacturers, Bridgestone cited rising raw material prices –  including oil used in the production of synthetic rubber, butadiene, carbon black and other materials used in the production of tires – as a reason for the price increase.

The price adjustment will vary by product line but it includes passenger and light truck tires from both the Bridgestone and Firestone tire brands, Bridgestone told Tire Review.

The Bridgestone release reads in full:

In response to increased business costs and other market dynamics, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (BATO) will adjust prices across a range of passenger and light truck replacement tires sold in the U.S. The new pricing will take effect October 1, 2018, and vary by product line. Members of the BATO Consumer Replacement Sales team are contacting customers to provide more detailed information about the changes.
