Cooper Tire & Rubber Company will increase prices across all of its brands by Oct. 1, the company said.
It will increase prices by up to 4%, which it said will apply to both passenger and light truck products.
Cooper is latest in a series of tiremakers that have announced price increases. At the start of September, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company increased its prices by up to 3% on select consumer tire sizes for all its brands.
Also in August, Firestone Ag announced it would boost prices on select agricultural tires by Oct. 1. Earlier this year, Sumitomo Rubber North America increased prices by 3%-7% on its Falken Tire brand.
Goodyear and other companies have cited the rising cost of raw materials as the reason for growing tire prices. Other companies that have increased prices on products this year include Alliance Tire Group, Camso and The Carlstar Group.
