Cooper Tire rolled out the Cooper Zeon R53, a new generation non-directional and asymmetric extreme maximum performance tire fitted for the ROUSH Stage 3 and P5 Mustangs, and for the Ford Mustang enthusiast with an uncompromising need for maximum dry grip, the company said. The tire’s race inspired construction includes an R-Tech technology mold profile that optimizes the contact patch geometry to provide responsiveness and cornering forces and maximum cornering forces. The tire’s silica tread enhances grip from dry limit handling and maintains an exceptional level of wet performance, making it well suited for both high-performance applications and street driving. The new DOT-approved tire is available in 275/40ZR 18 with a UTQG tread wear/traction/temperature rating of 220-AA-A, Cooper said.
