Just in time for the college playoff, Bridgestone Americas has signed a deal to manufacture University of Alabama branded tires. The tiremaker will offer limited edition Firestone Destination A/T tires featuring white stenciled “University of Alabaman Crimson Tide” on its sidewall.
“Tailgating is the ultimate game day experience for college football fans,” Anna Philip, Firestone brand manager, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations. “We designed the Alabama Tire so fans can literally Roll Tide, all year round, on a tire that delivers the dependability and durability expected from Firestone.”
The Firestone Destination A/T delivers on-road handling with off-road capability and features a 50,000-mile limited treadwear warranty. An optimized tread pattern creates a smooth, quiet ride, and its deep sipes and aggressive tread design add traction in mud and snow, Bridgestone said.
The tire will be available in nine different sizes.
This is an innovation project for Bridgestone and currently there are no plans to expand to other schools, Bridgestone shared.
