Hercules Launches New Ironman iMOVE Tire

Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. is rolling out a new Ironman branded light truck tire – the iMOVE Gen2 SUV.

“The iMOVE Gen2 SUV represents the latest launch in a sweeping round of product introductions for Ironman this year – making it the best go-to entry-level brand in the market today,” said Jedd Emans, vice president of marketing for Hercules.

Replacing the iMOVE SUV, the new entry-level, all-season sport truck tire features enhanced overall handling and traction, while delivering dynamic highway performance on light truck, SUV and crossover vehicles, Hercules said.

The tire’s asymmetric tread design helps enhance handing in wet and dry conditions, while wide circumferential groves evacuate water to improve wet grip and avoid hydroplaning, the tiremaker adds. To enhance directional stability, steering response and cornering grip at highway speeds, the tire features a large contact patch with continuous center rib.

The iMOVE Gen2 SUV line will come in 13 V- and W-rated sizes covering 20- to 24-inch wheel diameters, seven more sizes than its predecessor. According to Hercules, the tire is available in the U.S. through American Tire Distributors and in Canada through the National Tire Distributors. The new tire will be introduced to the market as iMOVE SUV inventories are exhausted, the tiremaker adds.

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has named Ryan Waldron as president of the company's Americas business unit, reporting to Chief Executive Officer and President Mark Stewart. He succeeds Steven R. McClellan, who retired on April 1.
