TIA’s political action committee, TirePAC, will be conducting a number of fundraising activities at this year’s annual membership meeting and welcome reception.
The events will take place during the Global Tire Expo, and will be held at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas on Oct. 31.
"TirePAC is working hard in taking the silent auction and PAC board to the next level," Mike Berra, TIA president, said.
For the silent auction, TirePAC has secured a very special item: a three-night stay and airfare for two to Los Angeles for ESPN’s annual ESPY Awards. TirePAC will be displaying additional silent auction items on Oct. 31 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Cosmopolitan.
TirePAC has an added twist this year to the PAC board with the first place winner having a choice of two NFL regular season tickets to the game of their choice or a $500 prize.
Randall Groh, chairman of TIA’s Government Affairs Committee, said that "building support in Washington is essential for the tire industry to have the impact to defend the industry and its members’ interests. By contributing to and promoting the silent auction and PAC board, our members grant TIA the opportunity to be involved and communicate our concerns in crafting public policy. And since 2012 is an election year, TirePAC contributions will be leveraged to their fullest extent."
