Continental Tire the Americas has released a new on/off road commercial tire for the North American market—the HDC1 HT. The tire was designed for use in severe service applications such as construction, mining, oil fields and logging, the company said.
“We anticipate those who depend on their trucks to operate every day in mud, snow, gravel and off-road conditions will be very interested in our specialized off-road, high traction drive product,” said Alex Chmiel, Continental’s director of marketing for commercial vehicle tires.
The HDC1 is built on Conti’s 3G casing providing improved durability, retreadability and traction over the HTC1. Additionally, the tire features a diamond lug tread pattern for maximum stone ejection and optimal chaining, as well as an on/off road belt package for increased durability, and full inch deep tread for increased traction, Conti said.
The HDC1 HT is available in two sizes: 11R22.5 and the 11R24.5.
