Pirelli Wins BMW Innovation Award

BMW presented Pirelli with its 2014 BMW Supplier Innovation Award in recognition of the tiremaker as an innovative supplier. Pirelli was awarded the ‘best innovation in quality’ prize at a ceremony hosted Oct. 5 in Amsterdam, for its real dynamic curing technology.

This technology, used by Pirelli throughout its factories, allows the optimal degree of vulcanization to be calculated for each tire via the use of a thermal sensor.

Pirelli is also one of the key suppliers to BMW worldwide in terms of the amount of product provided, said the tiremaker. Additionally, Pirelli noted that it has more than 200 OE fitments for the BMW Group, in sizes from 16 to 21 inches.

Goodyear names new Americas unit president

Ryan Waldron joined Goodyear in 2003, serving in leadership roles in finance and supply chain for multiple North America business areas.

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has named Ryan Waldron as president of the company's Americas business unit, reporting to Chief Executive Officer and President Mark Stewart. He succeeds Steven R. McClellan, who retired on April 1.

"I am thrilled to announce him as president of Goodyear's Americas business and have enormous confidence that under his leadership, both the company and our customers will reach even greater levels of success."
