Yokohama Launching Super Wides at MATS

Yokohama Tire Corp. is using the upcoming Mid-America Trucking Show as the platform to launch two new truck radials – both super wides.

Debuting at the show will be the Yokohama TY517 super wide drive tire and the Yokohama RY407 super wide trailer radial. Both will be showcased at Yokohama’s MATS booth at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville, March 21-23.

“The two new tires highlight our latest technology in casing design, tread design and rubber compounding,” said Rick Phillips, Yokohama’s director of commercial sales.

Phillips said the TY517, already SmartWay-verified, “delivers outstanding traction, long, even wear, extraordinary durability and increased retreadability – all designed to cut the bottom line.” It is available now in size 445/50R22.5.

The RY407, also SmartWay-verified, “offers excellent fuel efficiency and significant weight savings…and is a very durable and a retreadable product.” The RY407 is available now in size 445/50R22.5.

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has named Ryan Waldron as president of the company's Americas business unit, reporting to Chief Executive Officer and President Mark Stewart. He succeeds Steven R. McClellan, who retired on April 1.
