Police Investigate String of Thefts

Burglaries-LouisianaDeputies in Baton Rouge, La., are searching for those responsible for a string of burglaries that resulted in more than $6,000 of stolen tires from a Penske Truck rental company during the past three months.

The first robbery took place during the night between May 13 and 14, with roughly $400 in tires stolen by an individual that drove off in a dark colored SUV, according to reports.

The second burglary happened during the night between Aug. 1 and 2. This robbery resulted in more than $5,000 in stolen tires and rims, picked up by a “newer model Ford truck pulling a utility trailer,” according to police reports.

The third burglary happened during the night between Aug. 7 and 8. This last time, a dark-colored truck drove off in a dark-colored truck with five tires worth more than $1,000.

Hicks said investigators do not know if any of the burglaries are related.

The sheriff’s office requests that anyone with information concerning this incident or the identity of the suspect(s), contact East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office at 225-389-5000.
