Bridgestone to Showcase New Technology, Tires at MINExpo

In addition to its updated TreadStat software, Bridgestone Americas will also feature additional mining technology solutions and tires at MINExpo International 2016, Sept. 26-28 in Las Vegas.

“Mining customers around the world are looking for global partners they can rely on to meet their varying business, service and consulting needs,” said Taylor Cole, president of commercial off-the-road at Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations. “As a global company, Bridgestone is committed to broadening and enhancing our integrated technology solutions to meet the evolving needs of our customers and the mining industry as a whole. Our goal is to be a single-source solution for this important market segment.”

Those attend MINExpo will be able to see the following OTR products from Bridgestone Americas:

Bridgestone Intelligent Tag (B-TAG) with DirectLink

B-TAG is an Advanced TPMS for real-time monitoring of tire temperature and pressure. With addition of DirectLink, B-TAG provides actionable data that allows mining operators and fleet managers to control their fleets with accurate temperature versus calculations or ton miles per hour (TMPH) systems, Bridgestone said. Information gathered from the systems is delivered to computers, tablets or smartphones.

Bridgestone 46/90R57 VREV Tire

Bridgestone’s 57-inch giant tire is optimized for improved heat and wear resistance in severe haulage applications, the tiremaker said. To draw heat away, the tire features buttress fins in the shoulder that use air flow from the rolling tire to force cooler air into shoulder grooves and across the base of the tire, while parallelogram blocks minimize wear and tear, Bridgestone adds. According to the tiremaker, these features offer a 10% increase in TMPH/ton kilometers per hour (TKPH) compared to the Bridgestone V-Steel Rock Premium Service (VRPS) tire.

Bridgestone 59/80R63 VRF Tire with Cooling Fin technology

Also featuring cooling fin technology this tire offers up to a 10% more wear life than its predecessor, the Bridgestone VRF. Additionally, the cooling fins help deliver wear resistance to extend tire life and improve productivity in severe haulage applications with high payloads, Bridgestone said.

Bridgestone will also highlight its service and training network.
