World’s Largest Carbon Black Factory Goes Online in Tianjin

(Clacton, U.K./Tyres & Accessories) Cabot Corp.’s enormous $60 million Tianjin, China, carbon black factory is set to go onstream in March 2006, according to a report by Tianjin Daily.


The new production line is expected to start with an annual output of 60,000-tonnes, increasing to as much as 200,000 tonnes. This means the plant will account for one-fifth of the country’s total output and would make it the largest carbon black factory in the world.

Twelve percent of the US$60 million Cabot has invested in the plant has been allocated for the implementation of environmental-friendly procedures.
