No timetable was given for completion of the planned 80,000-square foot warehouse and headquarters facility.
“We are building a home in the U.S. for our corporate brands of Sumo tires and SSW alloy wheels,” said Jim Seidel, Stamford’s vice president and COO.
Stamford said it chose Charlotte for its second distribution center because of its “strategic location” relative to its present Miami warehouse.
“With the new Charlotte distribution center, we are now able to effectively service tire and wheel dealers from Miami to New York and most cities east of the Mississippi River with one-day delivery service,” said Seidel.
