The Independent Tire Dealers Group has joined forces with point S, an independent tire dealer network in Europe, with the goal of strengthening both organizations.
The two organizations make a good fit, according to ITDG, because they have a similar business model and culture, and both were founded as purchasing groups.
“Over the past several years the relationship between ITDG and point S has evolved to where we realized the need to take advantage of the synergies between the two companies,” said Michael Cox, president and CEO of IDTG. “point S management and their partnering countries realize the importance of the independent tire dealer and the ability for them to maintain that independency. ITDG shares that vision and looks forward to a mutually rewarding relationship.”
“Even if we are living in two different continents, we clearly realized through our meetings and discussions over the past years that we are facing a lot of similar issues in the American and European markets with possibly synergies to solve some of them,” said Fabien Bouquet, point S international operations director.
Bouquet added the first step of the partnership was granting ITDG exclusive and legal representation for the point S retail concept for the U.S.
IDTG represents 350 independent tire and auto service locations in 27 states. point S covers more than 2,000 point of sale members in 21 countries. The partnership forms the largest independent tire dealers network worldwide, according to Bouquet.
