Hercules Rolls Out New SUV, LT, CUV Tire

Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. has introduced a new premium light truck, SUV/CUV tire – the Hercules Terra Trac Cross-V. The tire is designed to perform comfortably in the city, highway or country, Hercules said.TerraTrac_CrossV

“The CUV, SUV and light truck markets are on the rise again. Unfortunately, many dealers have a gap in their product screen when it comes to offering CUV or SUV drivers a tire that delivers performance, longevity and value. The Terra Trac Cross-V finally fills that gap,” said Joshua Simpson, vice president of marketing for Hercules Tire.

The Terra Trac Cross-V features a special compound and tread design that work together to deliver outstanding wear resistance and durability, the company said. The silica compound also provides extra grip in wet conditions and produces lower rolling resistance. Micro-wave siping, an open shoulder and water guard also contribute to the tire’s all-weather, all-road traction, Hercules said.

The Hercules Terra Trac Cross-V is offered in 32 SKUs, with rim diameters ranging from 16 to 20 inches. SUV/CUV sizes have a V, H or T speed rating and a UTQG of 600 AA, Hercules said.

SUV/CUV sizes are backed by a 70,000 mile/112,000 km limited warranty, while LT sizes feature 65,000 mile/105,000 km coverage.

Federal Bill Introduced in Hopes to Stop California’s Gas-, Diesel-Powered Vehicle Ban

If approved, H.R 1435 would prevent the EPA from allowing California’s Zero Emissions Vehicle regulations that would ban motor vehicles with internal combustion engines from taking effect.

Legislation

U.S. Rep. John Joyce (R-PA) has introduced a bill (H.R. 1435) to protect Americans’ right to choose the technology that powers their motor vehicles.

The “Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act” was introduced in response to California’s plans to ban the sale of new gas- and diesel-powered cars and trucks in 2035 unless certain conditions are met, Joyce's office says. If approved, H.R 1435 would prevent the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from allowing California’s Zero Emissions Vehicle regulations that would ban the sale or use of new motor vehicles with internal combustion engines from taking effect.
