Goodyear Creates New Internal Organization

(Akron/Tire Review) Goodyear's North American Tire division has created a new internal team called the Customer Development Organization.

The announcement was made today at Goodyear’s annual dealer conference in Orlando, Fla.

Led by former Dunlop brand director Andy Traicoff, the new organization will integrate the company’s multiple brands and channels to help dealers choose the best tire lines to offer at their specific businesses.

Director Traicoff will report to Jack Winterton, Goodyear’s vice president of customer and channel development.

"As a strong brand- and customer-centric leader, Andy will direct this team of customer advocates as we strive to become a better supplier and easier to do business with," said Winterton.

Steve Hale, former director of private brand tires, will lead the commuter touring tire segment; Brent Strandberg, who had been Dunlop performance marketing manager, will oversee the sport performance tire segment; Todd Pickens, former southern region manager, will manage the all-terrain tire segment; and Anne Johnson, previously strategic pricing manager, will lead the winter and extreme off-road tire segment.

Todd Hershberger has been promoted to director of the Dunlop brand, and Melissa Montisano has been appointed general marketing manager for Goodyear light truck tires.

Nestled in between a thick wooded forest and a beautiful 13-acre lake in Ohio’s Mahoning County is a small farm and homestead. It’s unassuming, really. The kind of place you might pass right by without noticing on your way from here to there.

A little over a century-and-a-half ago, it was the birthplace of the man who would fundamentally change American agriculture forever, but today, that small farm is home to test tracks and testing facilities designed to put tomorrow’s farm tires to the test. To push the limits of what’s possible, pioneering the latest technology that allows farm tires to go where they never have before. To stand strong in the fields and ride soft on the roads. To tread lightly over soil and roots, while translating ever-increasing horsepower to traction in the fields.
