Montgomery, Alabama-based Gipson’s Tire Pros will raise money for the Cancer Wellness Foundation of Central Alabama through the “Tires for Tatas” program this month.
The shop will donate $2 of every tire sold through August to the foundation, which helps provide support and educational services to cancer patients.
“Originally I wanted to paint the buildings pink,” said Tony Diliberto, regional marketing manager at Tire Pros. “We looked at it from a marketing standpoint and decided that when you do something in October for Breast Cancer Awareness you blend in, while in August you’re likely to stand out better.”
Gipson’s Tire Pros stores in Montgomery, Prattville and Millbrook will all participate in the “Tires for Tatas” program and will have the programs logo on the front of their stores. Other participating Alabama stores include Wetumka Tire Pros in Wetumpa, Toulouse Tire Pros in Toulouse and Sexton Tire Pros in Montgomery.
Several Tire Pros locations in Alabama participate in the program in July to raise funds for breast cancer research.
