‘Gearhead Diva’ Returns to Host Tire Clinics at Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic

Rachel-Gearhead-Diva-De-BarrosRachel De Barros, star of Velocity Network’s “All Girls Garage” and host of GearheadDiva.com, will be hosting tire clinics during the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic in Prattville, Ala. This is her second year hosting tire clinics at the event.

De Barros will host two clinics per day at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, and Sunday, May 8. The clinics will take place at the Yokohama booth and last 15 minutes. One attendee per clinic will also win a $50 gift card.

“Rachel was really well received last year,” said Alan Holtschneider, Yokohama director of marketing. “She brings an incredible array of DIY knowledge and automotive enthusiasm, and she totally connects with consumers. We’re glad to have her back.”

Topics De Barros will cover at the tire clinic include, how to determine if you need new tires, how to choose correct tires and basic tire maintenance.

She will also encourage visitors to race in the “Drive to Win” challenge at Yokohama’s booth, which features the Yokohama Tire Gran Turismo 6 racing simulator. Participants of the challenge will compete for the fastest time each day to win a gift certificate for a set of Yokohama high performance, passenger or light truck tires. Other participants will be entered in a raffle for daily prizes.

“I’m a total tire geek,” De Barros said, “and I love to help people learn how to get more from their tires, improve their ride and save money. That’s what I’ll be doing again at the tire tips clinics. It’ll be fun, yet informative. So many people sometimes forget to take care of their tires, which are the only part of their car that actually touch the road.”
