‘Gearhead Diva’ to Host Tire Clinics at Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic

Rachel-Gearhead-Diva-De-BarrosRachel De Barros, Velocity Network’s “All Girls Garage” star and host of GearheadDiva.com, will attend the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic in Prattville, Ala.

At the event, the “Gearhead Diva” herself will host six free tire clinics with Bob Abram, Yokohama’s product planning manager.

There will be two 15-minute clinics per day at the following times:

  •  Friday, Aug. 28 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
  • Saturday, Aug. 29 at 2 pm and 4 p.m.
  • Sunday, Aug. 30 at 2 pm and 3:30 p.m.

The clinics will cover how to determine if you need new tires, how to choose correct tires and basic tire maintenance, Yokohama said.

In addition to the clinics, De Barros will also encourage attendees to race in the Yokohama Tire Gran Turismo 6 “Drive to Win” contest, where the fastest time wins a gift certificate for a set of Yokohama passenger or light truck tires and other participants are entered into a raffle for prizes.

“Rachel has created a vast DIY car building community and an impressive automotive lifestyle network,” said Alan Holtschneider, Yokohama director of marketing. “She’s knowledgeable, experienced and enthusiastic – the perfect person to have teach a tire clinic.”
