Federal-Mogul Offering Technician Scholarships

Federal-Mogul Motorparts is accepting applications for the third round of its Garage Gurus Automotive Technician Scholarship program with $30,000 in scholarships for future automotive technicians.

“As vehicle systems continue to get more complex, well-trained and expert technicians are imperative to the success of our industry,” said Brent Berman, director of training and consumer experience at Federal-Mogul Motorparts. “Through this program, we are happy to encourage current students along the path to obtaining the technical education they need to build a successful career in the automotive repair business.”

The company will award 12 $2,500 scholarships for the 2017-2018 academic year. Scholarship awards will be based on completed applications and written essays or videos that explain criteria such as, “Why I want to be a top technician.”

Technicians enrolled in accredited, U.S.-based automotive technical schools, colleges or universities are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Those interested in the scholarship can apply at www.FMgaragegurus.com/scholarship. All materials must be submitted by April 30, 2017.

Federal-Mogul Motorparts employees and its team of ASE Master certified Garage Gurus will review applications and related materials.

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has named Ryan Waldron as president of the company's Americas business unit, reporting to Chief Executive Officer and President Mark Stewart. He succeeds Steven R. McClellan, who retired on April 1.
