DOC Changes Indian OTR Duties

The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) has adjusted its countervailing duty calculations against OTR tires imported from India.

The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) has adjusted its countervailing duty calculations against OTR tires imported from India, according to a revised notice in the Federal Register.

After ATC Tire Private Ltd. petitioned the DOC alleging the agency made “ministerial errors” when calculating the duties, the DOC agreed and re-issued a countervailing duty against the tiremaker.

ATC’s duties dropped from 4.9% to 4.72%. Because of this decrease in duties, the rate for “All Others” was also reduced from 5.06% to 4.94%. The rate against Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT) remained unchanged.
