Brityrex is Highlight of the Year for Hofmann Megaplan

For tire equipment specialists Hofmann Megaplan, Brityrex represents the main event of the year on the office calendar.

The company’s historical association with the show, and the part it has played in its growth and development, has created a special affinity between exhibition and exhibitor.

Hofmann Megaplan managind director James Boon explains this in some detail: “After forming the company in 2004 and spending the first year finding our feet, we went into the 2005 exhibition with high hopes and a great deal of enthusiasm. Whilst many talked of low visitor numbers and questioned its value, I have to say that those three days did more for us as a company than any exhibition I’d attended previously and was only equalled by the first GMex Brityrex two years later. Those two exhibitions really helped to put us on the map and, without doubt, played a major part in establishing us as the major force in tire changing, balancing and associated garage equipment that we have since become. Certainly the cancellation of the 2009 event was seen as a serious blow to us.

“The type of visitor to Brityrex is 100% our type of customer,” he said. “At this show the attendees are our audience and this is our chance to perform; and everyone knows that we perform extremely well given these circumstances. The emphasis on visitor numbers never ceases to amaze me, as I know for sure that it is all about the quality. To be quite honest, if we had seen more visitors at either of the last shows, we wouldn’t have been able to talk to any more people, so the desire for additional numbers is totally irrelevant. What you do get is a man who has bothered to travel the length of the country to come and see the latest business opportunities, and he hasn’t done that just to walk up and down the aisles making it look busy.”

This year’s exhibition will see a bigger presence and more product offerings from the Cambridgeshire-based outfit, and the company expects to see an even greater level of success as a result. In the meantime, the office wall planner at their Huntingdon HQ bears the markers for Brityrex both a week before and a week after the event, with no allowance for staff holidays as the company totally immerses itself in what it sees as the most important event of the business year.
