Bridgestone Recalling Firestone FS561 Truck Tires

Bridgestone Americas has issued a voluntary safety recall for 36,000 Firestone FS561 commercial truck tires.

The recalled tires only include FS561 tires in size 255/70R22.5 that are installed in trailer applications and were manufactured in the U.S. and Canada between Feb. 2015 and Jan. 27, 2016 (DOT weeks 0515 – 0416).

Tires affected by the recall may experience scrubbing when in severe service trailer applications, which can cause tread separation and/or detachment, Bridgestone said.

Other FS561 sizes and applications are not included in the recall and there are no known accidents or injuries due to the recalled tires, the tiremaker said.

Bridgestone Americas is working with company-owned stores, authorized dealers and end-user customers to recover any tires subject to the recall and will replace the tires for free with a FS560 Plus or comparable Bridgestone or Firestone brand tire.
