Anchorage, Alaska’s Johnson’s Tire Service will celebrate its return to South Anchorage on March 30 with the grand opening of a new 6,000-square-foot store.
"Since we closed our old Dimond location in 2008, many of our customers have commented on our need to return to that part of the city," said Kelly Gaede, owner and president. "That was always the plan, and last fall we finally found the right opportunity and location on Old Seward Highway. The site offers the convenience our south end customers deserve."
The new store includes a 4,800-square-foot shop with six service bays and a 1,200-square-foot showroom that is unique to Johnson’s Tire and to the location.
“In designing this store, we really rethought traditional layout and came up with a new design that reflects how we serve customers today. Instead of a sales counter in the showroom, customers will find individual service kiosks, which demonstrate our emphasis on the importance of a close relationship between our service specialists and those we serve,” said Gaede.
“Many of our customers come to the store with families or like to wait on-site while work is performed on their vehicles, so we paid particular attention to comfort features like well-designed restrooms, something you don’t typically find in a tire store,” he said.
Johnson’s Tire also has locations in midtown Anchorage, Eagle River, Wasilla and Soldotna.
