Akebono Brake Corp. announced that its plant in Elizabethtown, Ky., won the General Motors 2014 Supplier Quality Excellence Award. Ted Saito, president and CEO of North American operations, and Lisa Vollmert, director of OE sales for North American operations accepted the award during a ceremony held at Cobo Center in Detroit on Sept. 24.
GM stated that suppliers who receive this award have met or exceeded a very stringent set of quality performance criteria and have achieved the cross-functional support of the entire GM organization.
“We are honored to receive this prestigious award from General Motors,” said Doug Morgan, plant manager of Akebono’s Elizabethtown plant. “Our associates hard work and dedication to quality is the key to our success in everything we do.”
