Entries Open for 2017 Miss Retread Truck Tire Contest

The Miss Retread Truck Tire Contest will once again honor the “most beautiful” retreaded medium truck tires during the North American Tire & Retread Expo on April 20.

Participants who enter a tire have the chance to win $2,500 in separate contests for pre-cured and mold-cured tires.

Last year, Techno Pneu Inc. from Canada won the pre-cured category with a Dunlop 11R 22.5 casing with Vipal VT200 tread. Recauchutagem Nortenha S.A. from Portugal took home the mold-cured category prize with a Bridgestone 385/65R 22.5 casing with Nortenha Ecotrailer tread.

This year’s judges will be David Stevens, managing director, Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau; Jeff Young, vice president of OTR and retread products division for Rema Tip Top North America Inc.; and Tim BeVier, manager, national account business development for Tech International.

The North American Tire & Retread Expo will be held on April 19-21, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has named Ryan Waldron as president of the company's Americas business unit, reporting to Chief Executive Officer and President Mark Stewart. He succeeds Steven R. McClellan, who retired on April 1.
