Columbus Tire Co. in Columbus, Ga., caught on fire Aug. 28 after rubber dust burst into flames outside the facility, according to WRBL-TV.
The shop’s owner said the fire started when a foreign material inside a tire that was being buffed for retreading sparked, igniting the particles.
This is the shop’s second fire; it had an electrical fire about 10 years ago, the shop owner told local media.
The fire caused minimal damage to Columbus Tire, and the shop is back open today.
The sponsorship will run for the entire 2024 season in conjunction with the Los Angeles Angels.
