A South Dakota woman filed a lawsuit against Wal-Mart claiming that she crashed on the interstate because of a tire that was improperly mounted at a store in Watertown, S.D., last year.
According to a report in the Argus Leader, Rudy Anderson, of Brookings, S.D., argues in the federal lawsuit that the store failed to correctly mount the wheel and tire on the front driver’s side in December 2014. As a result, she alleges the wheel and tire came off a week later while she was driving on Interstate 29, causing a crash that injured her shoulder and head.
Anderson’s medical bills have exceeded $30,000 and she will need further treatment, the lawsuit says.
