Tenneco Expands Rancho Shock Series

Tenneco Inc.’s Rancho brand introduced its RS5000X shock series for lifted trucks and SUVs. According to the company, the RS5000X shock series includes cross-tuned technology, a new, unique valve design that allows for increased control and consistent ride profile with a larger shock body.  RS5000X_Strut_SS2

“The Rancho RS5000X series gives vehicles found in North America – and around the world – another great choice for a performance shock,” said Chris Gauss, director of performance brands, Tenneco. “By introducing a patented valve technology, enlarging the shock body and adding other key features that enhance the original design, enthusiasts will see more consistent performance and extended capabilities in a wide-variety of environments and regions.”

The Rancho RS5000X shock series has a large 2.25-inch diameter reserve tube that delivers greater oil capacity and can enhance overall performance, said the manufacturer. Tenneco also noted that each RS5000X shock includes a solid, 16mm nitro-carb rod to offer strength and durability during off-road driving. The RS5000X shock is gas pressurized to add a mild boost of spring rate to potentially minimize foaming and shock fade. The series also features a glass-filled fluon banded piston that provides smoother piston travel and greater responsiveness when road conditions vary.

All Rancho RS5000X shocks carry a limited lifetime warranty in North America.
