A now-former National Tire & Battery employee has been charged with three counts of larceny after he reportedly falsified several merchandise returns valued at more than $2,400 from a store in Natick, Mass.
According to local reports, the man asked his superiors not to report the theft to police, but was not able to pay back the stolen amount.
On two occasions on July 7, and a third on July 12, the 23-year-old, who worked the cash register at the store, falsely entered returns from a customer into the computer, refunding the money directly to his own credit card, according to reports. Two days after the final theft, he quit his job.
