New Mud Terrain Line Launched by Omni United

3 radar tireOmni United has added the Radar Renegade R7 M/T to its light truck tire line-up. The new line is available for order now, with tires being delivered to U.S. dealers in November.

The tire company said the new line is its Radar brand’s “answer for the serious off-road enthusiast looking for a tire with enhanced durability for harsh gravel and rock, and traction in deep mud, sand and snow.”

Derived from Omni United’s off-road racing experience, the Radar Renegade R7 M/T features three body plies for strength and durability, Omni United said, shoulder “side biters” for added traction on loose surfaces, and stone ejectors that help avoid damaging penetration.

The Radar Renegade R7 M/T tire will have a total of 30 raised outline white letter sizes introduced in two phases: 14 sizes are available now, with 16 more sizes planned for introduction in 2016.

Yokohama Rubber held a groundbreaking event on April 15 for its new consumer and light truck tire plant at the Alianza Industrial Park in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. The company said the event was well attended by a crowd of state and local officials, as well as management from Yokohama companies, including YRC Chairman and CEO Masataka Yamishi; Yokohama Corporation North America (YCNA) CEO Shinichi Takimoto; and Yokohama Tire Corporation (YTC) President and CEO Jeff Barna.
