Man Arrested in Tire Theft

A Russellville, Ark., man was arrested on Dec. 28, suspected of stealing two dozen tires from his former employer and then selling them to another local tire business.

Russellville Police say the 29-year-old man stole the tires, valued at approximately $2,000, from a Goodyear-owned tire on North Arkansas Avenue sometime in last year. The man worked at the store until November.

Some of the tires, which bore a chalk marking, turned up later at the Tires-R-Us store in the city. Eventually 20 of the 24 stolen tires were recovered.

Cosmo Tires, distributed by Tire Group International, has introduced changes to its mileage warranty and road-hazard programs which will now feature a mileage warranty of 40,000-70,000 miles for all passenger and light truck tires offered.

Now, all passenger and light truck tires carry Cosmo’s road hazard and mileage warranty ranging from 40,000-70,000 miles," said Dominick Montouri, chief strategy officer of Tire Group International, said.
