Pamela Gatto, president of Gatto’s Tire and Auto Service and 2007 Tire Review Top Shop winner, has been awarded the title of 2014 Central Florida Humanitarian. The award was created to recognize outstanding individuals and organizations that dedicate their time, talent or treasure to help people in need locally and around the world. An awards ceremony will take place on Nov. 6.
Gatto is being recognized for her charity work with the Junior League of South Brevard, where she served as past president, and her current work on the boards of a myriad of Brevard, Fla.-based charities including her service as vice-chairman of the Brevard Health Alliance, board member of Health First, vice-chair of Holmes Regional Medical Center and Palm Bay Hospital, and chair of Viera Hospital, among other positions with the county.
Her current focus is in providing greater access to quality healthcare to all the county residents, wrote Space Coast Medicine and Active Living magazine.
Her community support extends well beyond just health care, encompassing the area’s economic and cultural growth as past chair of the Brevard Workforce Development Board and past chair of the Brevard Museum and Science, noted Space Coast.
Additionally, Gatto has been president of the Space Coast Tiger Bay Club and board member of Florida Tech’s School of Psychology, among other educational organizations.
Gatto was also recognized for her achievements within the tire industry. She was selected the first woman to preside over the Florida Independent Tire Dealers and Retreaders Association, which also inducted her into its hall of fame.
