The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has partnered with the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. The tiremaker will serve as the exclusive tire supplier for the Mid-Ohio School and course.
“This association with a leading North American road course and driving school fits Goodyear well. There is a connection between the grueling demands Goodyear tires face in competitive track situations and everyday driving,” said Scott Rogers, Goodyear’s chief marketing officer, North America. “We want racers and fans of all series to come to Mid-Ohio and experience the performance of Goodyear’s products first-hand, to see how everything we learn making Goodyear racing tires inspires what we roll into tires for consumers.”
As part of its deal, Goodyear will supply all of the tires for Mid-Ohio School’s fleet, as well as track vehicles, the tiremaker said. Goodyear will also have track presence during all Mid-Ohio events, including sponsorship of the “Goodyear Tower,” in which the track’s media center and hospitality suites are housed for events, as well as the “Goodyear Bridge.”
Goodyear has nearly a three decade history at Mid-Ohio, the company said.
