East Bay Tire Co. announces the arrival of Dean Barnhart as the new manager for R&G Tire Center in Hawaii. Barnhart will oversee both the Hilo and Kona service locations.
This change follows Rod Carvalho’s announcement that he will retire. Carvalho, founder and manager of R&G Tire Center, will be leaving later this year.
“With Rod Carvalho retiring this year, we needed to find someone with extensive experience and energy to continue to build and grow R&G Tire Center on the Big Island,” said John Hulsey, general manager of EBT’s wholesale division. “We feel confident that Dean is the right person.”
Barnhart is no stranger to the tire industry and has 27 years experience in the retail, commercial and wholesale sides of the business. Prior to joining EBT, he ran the wholesale division for a large tire distributor, promoting their private label brand on the global level.
East Bay Tire Co. purchased R&G Tire Center in December 2012.
