Continental Tire issued a voluntary recall of approximately 3,800 ContiProContact P205/65 R15 95T XL passenger tires due to possible tread separation.
Continental notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on July 7, 2015 about the recall and is working with tire distributors and dealers to identify and contact consumers who purchased the tires, Continental said in a press release. Tires will be replaced at no cost.
The Department of Transportation code VY UR 471B 0615 will identify the recalled tires, and only tires with a DOT week 0615 production are effected.
