Bridgestone India has contributed Rs 1 crore to the Indian prime minister’s National Relief Fund for people affected by Chennai floods, according to the Business Standard.
Heavy rains throughout November 2015 and into December have affected millions of people and damaged property in the Chennai area.
“Bridgestone hopes to play a part in rebuilding the lives of the people of Chennai,” said a Bridgestone representative.
The donation will help provide aid to the affected people of Chennai for their speedy recovery, along with the re-building of infrastructure destroyed during the floods, the tiremaker said.
