BKT President Resigns

Carl Casalbore resigned from his post as president of BKT USA Inc. to “pursue other career goals.”

The company announced Casalbore’s resignation Feb. 25, stating that Minoo Mehta, vice president, will take over the responsibility of president, focusing on future growth in sales in replacement and OE markets in the U.S.

Minoo brings over 40 years of tire experience to the position, according to Rajiv Poddar, joint managing director of parent company Balkrishna Industries Ltd.

Casalbore was appointed to the role of president in May 2013. At the time of his appointment, Arvind Poddar, chairman and managing director of Balkrishna Industries Ltd., said Casalbore’s appointment completed the restructuring of BKT Tires USA.

Yokohama Rubber holds groundbreaking for Mexico tire plant

The facility is set to begin production in early 2027 with a planned annual output of five million tires.

Yokohama Rubber held a groundbreaking event on April 15 for its new consumer and light truck tire plant at the Alianza Industrial Park in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. The company said the event was well attended by a crowd of state and local officials, as well as management from Yokohama companies, including YRC Chairman and CEO Masataka Yamishi; Yokohama Corporation North America (YCNA) CEO Shinichi Takimoto; and Yokohama Tire Corporation (YTC) President and CEO Jeff Barna.
