ALI Inspection Labels Stolen

Roughly 200 annual inspection labels were stolen from the Automotive Lift Institute Inc. ( ALI) when a vehicle of one of the institute’s certified inspectors was broken into in Buffalo, N.Y., on April 20.

All ALI labels are individually serialized and applied to automotive lifts that pass annual lift inspection requirements, ALI said.

Stolen labels can be identified by the following serial numbers:

If your business has had a lift inspection since April 20, 2015 and it bears one of the above serial numbers, services may not have been performed by an ALI Certified Lift Inspector. The Label should be removed and reported to ALI.

To report an incident of a questionable inspection label, or to find out the validity of your label, provide the name of the inspection provider, the manufacturer’s model and serial number of the lift and the serial number shown on the inspection label to ALI.
