Vipal to Showcase Products at North American Tire & Retread Expo

Vipal Rubber will bring exclusive treads and an extensive retreading product mix as well as engage in customer relations at the North American Tire & Retread Expo, from April 19 to 21 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.

“The US retreading market is the largest in the world, representing roughly 30% of worldwide trade. Customer relations initiatives are part of Vipal’s project in the 90+ countries where it operates, and we wouldn’t do things differently here,” said Frederico Schmidt, Vipal’s sales manager for the U.S.

Retreading products to be featured at Vipal’s booth (#711) include its SmartWay-verified VT170 ECO and VL130 ECO treads.

The company will also host a dinner on April 20 for customers in the region.

Yokohama Rubber holds groundbreaking for Mexico tire plant

The facility is set to begin production in early 2027 with a planned annual output of five million tires.

Yokohama Rubber held a groundbreaking event on April 15 for its new consumer and light truck tire plant at the Alianza Industrial Park in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. The company said the event was well attended by a crowd of state and local officials, as well as management from Yokohama companies, including YRC Chairman and CEO Masataka Yamishi; Yokohama Corporation North America (YCNA) CEO Shinichi Takimoto; and Yokohama Tire Corporation (YTC) President and CEO Jeff Barna.
