Trust Fund Donations Top $3 Million

(Akron/Tire Review) Bridgestone Americas Holding said that the Bridgestone/Firestone Trust Fund donated more than $3 million to nearly 700 U.S. charities and non-profits in 2005, including more than $800,000 to charities in Middle Tennessee.

The donations included relief funds for victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Along with a donation from the Trust Fund, Bridgestone Corp. donated $1 million to the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund.

In addition, volunteers from the company teamed up with the Nashville Area Red Cross, Second Harvest Food Bank and the Tennessee Titans for the Titans Drive for Relief. During the weekend event, almost two hundred pints of blood, thousands of pounds of food and more than $260,000 dollars were donated to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
