As part of activities celebrating the 70th anniversary in August 2015 of Toyo Tire & Rubber Co.’s establishment, Toyo Tires will build a new head office building in Itami, Hyogo Prefecture, and will relocate company headquarters next to its Tire Technical Center.
The new headquarters which will house 350 employees in roughly 8,000 square meters will be built on a vacant lot on the site of Toyo’s Tire Technical Center, which will place it adjacent to the company’s technology development center. The headquarters will be about a 20-minute drive from the company’s new R&D center in Kawanishi, which is slated to open in November this year.
The new management team inaugurated last month has established a management theme of “boosting corporate strength and sustained, innovative, continuous growth.” The headquarters relocation is positioned as a critical foundation for further solidifying the company’s corporate strength, according to Toyo, allowing the company to “further boost its internal unity and mobility as it aims to achieve sustainable, innovative growth.”
