Martins Industries, manufacturer of tire storage, handling and display systems, has opened a new 42,000-square-foot manufacturing plant and warehouse in Montreal.
The state-of-the-art facility is equipped with CNC and automated press brake, cutting saw, robotic welding machines.
Martins said the move from its former plant in St-Alexander, Quebec, was necessitated by the need for more space, and will allow the company to triple production.
The production capacity will range from 20 to 200 units a day according to the complexity of the tire racks or tire displays.
“We added two dedicated working cells for research and development for new products, prototyping and fabrication of one to 10 units orders. With these working cells and a wide range of steel inventory, we can build prototypes quicker,” said Jean-Michel Boulais plant director.
Martins Industries is holding a grand opening of the new facility on July 6.
