The request to relocate the legal dispute between Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. and its China partner to Hong Kong has been rejected by a Chinese court, according to Bloomberg.
In July, Chengshan Group sought the dissolution of its venture with Cooper claiming the acquisition of Cooper by Apollo Tyres would “undermine” the Chinese operation.
The Chinese company, who sought the move, has up to 10 days after receiving the court’s notice to appeal.
Earlier this month, the court in Weihai pushed back the hearing of the case to an undetermined date.
