News reports out of Chennai, India, say that Alliance Tire Group is planning a new OTR tire plant in India, as well as a capacity boost at another plant.
Reports said Alliance is looking to build a $160 million greenfield plant in Gurarat, India, and will increase OTR tire production capacity at its existing plant in Tamil Nadu, India.
The greenfield plant location was said to be on a 102-acre site, with a proposed initial capacity of 50,000 tons per year. The Tamil Nadu plant, meanwhile, would see a capacity boost from 48,0000 tons per year to 61,000 tons per annum. That plant, reports said, may be further expanded by another 29,000 tons per year.
