Pirelli Voted ‘Tyre Manufacturer of Year’ in China

One of the most influential automotive industry awards in China – the China Auto Service Golden Finger Awards – are jointly held by Auto Driving & Service Magazine (one of the authoritative auto magazine in China) and Sohu Auto Channel.

Since its inception it has developed to become one of the most influential and well-known annual lists in auto service industry.

Based upon the opinions of industry experts, magazine readers, and Web users, in 2008 Pirelli was awarded as the “Best Tyre Manufacturer of the Year” for its long-term commitment to provide passionate driving experience through its innovative high-performance products. The win for Pirelli in the tyre section, the company notes, is a recognition of Pirelli’s leading position in automotive business as well as confirmation on product satisfaction and brand reputation from both consumers and experts.

The company has held an industrial presence in China since 2005, and employs approximately 2,000 staff. Pirelli’s stable development in China replies upon its continuous innovation, the company notes. Contributing to this is the Pirelli China R&D centre, one of seven the tyre maker operates worldwide. The Chine R&D centre focuses upon the industrialisation and development of products according to the latest Chinese Market standards and requirements, says Pirelli.

During the prize ceremony, S. Ranghieri, marketing and retailing director of Pirelli, China said: “Winning this award is the recognition of our current hard work in China: it is dedicated to all the 2,000 Chinese employees. In the coming years, Pirelli will continue to invest in product development and technology innovation to make the Chinese industrial facilities the biggest PCR Pirelli production centre for China, Asia and Australian markets.” (Tyres & Accessories/Staffordshire, U.K.)
