Omni United Pte. Has re-committed to supporting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, setting its new fundraising goal at $1 million.
The tiremaker said that more than 1,200 of its tire retailers and distributors have committed to participate in its 2012 Mobilizing Hope fundraising campaign. Omni United pledged a minimum $250,000 donation, but aims to raise $1 million with the support from its dealers and distributors.
As part of the effort, Omni United said it will donate $1 for every four Radar-branded tires sold in any of its markets worldwide. As part of the effort, the Radar brand “Ring of Hope tire,” featuring a pink sidewall design, will be available at participating retailers nationwide starting Sept. 15.
“Omni United is delighted to support BCRF in the fight against breast cancer,” said G.S. Sareen, president and CEO. “This is only possible thanks to the on-going support and dedication from our retailer and distribution partners who make our tires available to the public. We are honored to be business partners with companies of this caliber, and we are grateful for their contributions to the Mobilizing Hope campaign.”
Founded in Singapore in 2003, Omni United posted 2011 sales of some $180 million. The company offers a range of passenger, light truck/SUV, medium truck/bus and agricultural tires under its Radar, Goodride, Roadlux and Corsa brands.
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, founded by Evelyn H. Lauder in 1993, is an independent not-for-profit organization committed to funding scientific research to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer. In October 2011, BCRF awarded $36.5 million to 187 scientists around the world.
