Micheldever Refits Tavistock Tyres with Pro-Align’s Equipment

One of Micheldever's newest acquisitions, Tavistock Tyres in Devon, has undergone an extensive refurbishment program, including the replacement of equipment.

According to those involved, the aim from the outset was to fit the workshop to a very high standard, achieve the optimum in customer service and efficiency/revenue generation. In order to achieve this, Micheldever selected key equipment from Pro-Align’s “world leading” Hunter equipment range. The improvements and reorganization at Tavistock Tyres has meant they have now been able to create a new dedicated alignment bay, headed by the Hunter Imaging Alignment System.

The addition of the new Hunter Balancer, with “SmartWeight” weight saving software, has also been making its mark. Tavistock Tyres is reportedly experiencing savings in the order of 38% on its wheel weight usage and hence wheel consumables costs. Tim Schmidt, from the Tavistock site said: “The GSP9200 with SmartWeight is fantastic. It is really is exceeding all our expectations, we have already saved over 26kilos of weight! That is a massive savings, not only in the weight being applied but it is saving us thousands in money terms, with today’s wheel weights costs.”

Complimenting and completing the trio at Tavistock Tyres, Micheldever also selected Pro-Align’s top of the range Hunter TCX550 Tyre Changer with Bead Press System. (Tyres & Accessories/Staffordshire, U.K.)
