In order to consolidate its operations in the U.S.A., U.K., Slovakia and China into one single business unit, Mesnac has created a global business, the Mesnac Tooling Division (MTD). This division will provide tooling support to Mesnac’s Tire Building machine divisions in China and Slovakia and to its subsidiary Beijing Jingyie. The division’s technology platform will be based on the established Wyko brand but will also control Mesnac’s other tooling brands, which are primarily sold in Asian markets.
In announcing the new division’s formation, Mesnac executive vice president Zheng Jiangjia stated that “consolidating our various tooling operations into one business unit will enable the Wyko technology to greatly enhance the performance of our tire building machines and to provide our customers with the best combination of tooling and tire building equipment.”
William Jones, president, heads the division. Jones is a 32-year veteran of the tooling business and, until recently, managing director of Wyko’s U.K. operation.
Glen Earnheart has been appointed general manager of Wyko’s Greenback engineering operation in the U.S. and will also act as vice president of the new division. Earnheart was formerly engineering director of Akron-based RMS, manager of engineering development for Cooper Tire in Findlay, Ohio and engineering director for Cooper’s operations in China. Wang Yanshu, general manager of Mesnac’s Tire Building division, will also act as a MTD vice president.
