Maxxis British Motocross Championship Kicks Off

(Clacton, U.K./Tyres & Accessories) British racing fans experienced the beginning of a season’s worth of racing with the first round of the 2006 Maxxis British Motocross Championships, held 12 March at Cadders Hill, Lyng.

The contest went on as planned despite forecasts of rain with a possibility of snow.

Strong contenders for the overall title have already emerged: Marc de Reuver offered an outstanding performance in the MX2 class, winning both races, while Ken de Dykcer took the victory in the first MX1 heat and Josh Coppins won MX1 Race 2.

The next round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championships will be held 9 April at Canada Heights, Swanley. Maxxis thanks the Norwich Vikings MCC for providing the competitors with a superb track in spite of the inclement weather, and congratulates all the riders who helped make Round 1 of this series such a rousing success.

Ohio Tire & Auto Association Donates $3K at Annual Golf Outing

OTAA’s annual golf event raised funds for AACF while connecting Ohio Tire & Automotive Association members.

The Ohio Tire and Automotive Association (OTAA) held its annual golf outing this year at The Country Club at Muirfield Village, close to the renowned Muirfield Village Golf Club, home of the PGA Tour's Memorial Tournament.

OTAA leadership welcomed around 116 OTAA members and thanked sponsors before teeing off and, following golf, attendees gathered for dinner, drinks and donations. OTAA leadership, including new President Jon Boyd, tire business manager, from Boyd’s Tire and Service, presented a $3,000 donation to the Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation (AACF). OTAA also presented the William Floyd Distinguished Service Award to Tom White, owner of the six-store Tire Source chain based in Canton. White received the honor in recognition of his long-term dedication and contributions to the OTAA board and the broader Ohio tire industry.
